Dr Edmund M. Green
Dr Edmund M. Green
Historical researcher and writer, based in London.

Edmund Green studied at Oxford, LSE and Royal Holloway, London University, where he gained his doctorate in 1992. He is now Visiting Research Fellow, School of History, Classics & Archaeology, Newcastle University UK.
He has published essays based upon this material; and his research was then extended, in partnership with Charles Harvey and Penelope Corfield, to generate the Westminster Historical Database, with funding from the Economic & Social Research Council.
The outcome was published in 1998 by Bristol Academic Press as an interpretative book by all three authors, with an accompanying CD-Rom.
Subsequently, the Westminster database material has been incorporated within the macro-website London Lives 1690-1800: Crime, Poverty and Social Policy in the Metropolis: see www.londonlives.org.
Edmund Green's research interests continue to focus both upon metropolitan history and upon the history of elections more generally.
